As expected this year’s paper was also of the same pattern as AIPMT 2014. There were total 180 questions of 4 marks each and the overall paper was for 720 marks. If we talk subject wise, then there were 45 questions from Physics and Chemistry, and 90 questions were from Biology (Zoology and Botany sections of Biology). There was negative marking also and 1 mark is to be deducted for each wrong answer.
After looking into the details of each subject, we have come up with this overall paper analysis.
Looking at the cutoff first, last year’s cutoff for different categories was as follows:
Gen: 438, OBC: 434, SC: 295, ST: 288
Though all the subjects were of similar difficulty level, Chemistry was on the easier side as compared to Physics and Biology. Compared to last year, Biology was on relatively tougher side as compared to Chemistry & Physics. Overall, it is felt by that the paper was difficult as compared to last year and the cut-off is expected to be lower than that of last year.
So, the students who want to get selected for AIPMT 2015, the expected cutoff for different categories would be as follows:
Gen: 426, OBC: 422, SC: 287, ST: 280
The actual cutoff though may be slightly lower than the above but will surely not exceed the above marks. If we look at individual subject analysis, it is recommended that if you want a detailed analysis, you should look at the individual subject analysis provided by our Expert Faculty Members.
But if we talk about the overall paper, the major highlights are as usual. Like always, in this year’s paper, overall 50% of both XIth and XIIth topics were covered in all the three subjects.
Resonance wishes all the best to all the students who appeared for AIPMT 2015.
